The Prime Minister, the Ministers for Finance, for Social Welfare and Labor, and for Food, Agriculture and Light Industry were among the high officials who exchanged views with businessmen on Monday at a meeting in the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. S.Batbold said the Government plans to take some measures to support employment generation in 2011.

The Chairman of the Chamber, S.Demberel, urged the Government to make sure the mistakes of 2010 were not repeated. The private sector feels little definite was achieved last year despite the Government’s promise to reform the business environment.

Businessmen asked the state officials about specific plans to create jobs and criticized the amendment to the law on stamp duties that, they said, was strangling employment. Ministers agreed to consider the matter.

The Government plans to issue bonds worth MNT100 billion and to use the money to create 30,000 working places and to develop small and middle enterprises. It will also provide support to the wool and cashmere sector, and help small entrepreneurs to secure loans, said the Ministers.
