Some students at the University of Education are reported to have been taken to hospital after they had used some intoxicating plant product. Police are also said to have found 20 grams of such substance at the home of a student.

N.Tugsjargal of the Police General Department told journalists that the death from poisoning of a man aged 19, and from Uvs aimag, was registered in fifth khoroo of Songino-Khairkhan district on March 1. Two other men with him showing symptoms of poisoning were taken for treatment at the Center for Treatment of Poisoning.

However, poisoning is a preliminary conclusion and the actual cause of death is not yet determined. There is no previous case recorded of death from similar causes.
