Our journalist talks to prized artist of Union of Mongolian Artists (UMA), S.Gantsatsralt.

How does it feel to have your work displayed in famous Mariinsk Theater of Russian Federation?
Yes, one of my works was presented to Mariinsk Theater of St.Petersburg when Prime Minister S.Batbold officially visited Russia. I graduated in theatrical painting and I mostly paint flowers and ballet. That is why I am so glad that my painting is displayed in the famous theater where I watched ballet and opera when I was a student.

What is this painting?
I named it White Rose. It was a part of a series of my flower paintings shown in exhibition Smell of Heaven in 2007.

Do you plan a new exhibition?
I am planning to show my illustrations for the book Mongol Artist by writer and poet Lkhagva. I shall also show my paintings on classical music in 2012.

What do you like to paint best?
I painted historical works when I taught in Fine Art Institute and I sometimes love to paint the steppe, wild animals, trees and women.  I also like painting flowers to show the beauty of nature. If there were no flowers, nature would be so sad. I designed costumes for the circus between 1998 and 2001. My dream is to paint the stage scenery for Mungun Zalaa ballet by Choidog.
