President Ts.Elbegdorj has said all courts must work with transparency and a sense of responsibility and should be subject to monitoring. This followed his talks with judicial officials in Dundgobi and Tuv aimags.

Judge General of Dundgobi aimag, T.Byambajav, told the President that they tried to provide citizens with all information related to court activities and decisions. They have an official for this work and all court decision are also available on the Website of the aimag’s court.

Judge General of Tuv aimag, D.Myagmarjav, told the President they were spreading awareness among the people of the Fairness Memorandum, jointly prepared by the Judges’ Union of Mongolia, the Women Judges’ Union, and the Court Officials’ Union. Court decisions in Tuv also are posted on the Web and 100 citizens visit the on a daily average.
President Ts.Elbegdorj said that justice was more valuable than mineral resources, and was happy that judges are following the Fairness Memorandum. He hoped the Government would ensure the legal and economic independence of the judiciary.
