A Mongolian team led by S.Mendsaikhan, Chief of the National Statistics Office, attended the 42nd meeting of such national committees in New York between February 18 and 25. It held talks with I Insil, head of the South Korean committee that is a partner in implementing the project MONSTAT with World Bank loan and grant, and also Waltraud Mure, head of the International Cooperation Department in the Statistic Office of Germany. Mongolian delegates thanked them for their support to Mongolia in becoming member of the UN Statistics Commission.

Mendsaikhan has said that the World Bank is likely to provide additional finance to expand the scope of MONSTAT.

G.Gerelt-Odod, Deputy Chief of the National Statistics Office, was elected Deputy Chief of the Statistics Bureau of the Asia Pacific Economic and Social Commission under the UN.
