The demands of the protesting citizens have not been conceded. Replying to their charter addressed to the Parliament Speaker on Monday, Director of the Standing Committee on Government Organization U.Enkhtuvshin, Director of the Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy Z.Enkhbold, and Director of the Parliament Office Ts.Sharavdorj told the leaders of the movement on Thursday that there was no provision of the Constitution or any law that would justify dissolving Parliament.
After Enkhtuvshin had read out the reply, the movement leaders said they would demand a referendum on the issue. Seven people – head of the movement D.Battsogt, general coordinator G.Uyanga, head of National Soyombo movement B.Lhagvajav, L.Tsog, D.Ninj and head of Rapid Change movement Ganbaatar – announced they would go on a hunger strike to press for the fresh demand which will be formally submitted soon. No date for the hunger strike has been announced. Eleven people from Orkhon province have expressed a desire to join the seven leaders in the strike.
