The Bogd Khaan Palace Museum will mount a series of exhibitions to mark the 100th anniversary of the National Independence Revolution. The first of these, to open at 1pm on February 27, will be devoted to personal articles used by Queen Dondogdulam, including jewelry and the clothes she wore on ceremonial occasions.

Lamas of the Tuvdenodvar temple of Khentii aimag, that was once used by Female Nobles, will offer prayers, and discussions will be held at the opening ceremony.

Dondogdulam was born in 1874 in the family of Tsend from Jonon van Tsogbadrakh khoshuu of Setsen Khan aimag. She studied Mongolian and Tibetan and took part in affairs of state when the Bogd Khaan was both the religious and temporal Head of State. She was married to the Bogd Khaan for 21 years and died in 1923 at the age of 49.

Articles for Dondogdulam’s use were made by 120 weavers, tailors, artists, smiths and shoe makers of Sangai aimag.
