Premier S.Batbold left Sydney yesterday, Australia’s business and financial center, and the first stop on his visit to the country, to arrive in Canberra, the nation’s capital. The official welcome ceremony will be held today, and a busy schedule of meetings and talks will follow. Yesterday the Prime Minister laid a wreath at the memorial to unknown soldiers in a traditional ceremony for foreign visitors.
Australia and Mongolia see each other as natural partners and Australian provinces are vying with one another to be chosen to help Mongolia to use its natural resources. The
Governor of New South Wales, Professor Marie Bashir, hosted a banquet for Premier Batbold and his wife Otgontuya. Mrs Bashir recalled her visit to Mongolia and expressed the hope that Mongolians studying in Australia and Australians who visit Mongolia would be a bridge between the two countries and help develop cooperation in many sectors.
Batbold noted that his visit to a business forum in Sydney gave him a chance to interact with representatives of mining and agriculture projects and investors.
