According to a survey by the Mineral Resources Authority, Mongolia has
two million tons of lead reserve at present. Most of it is in Khartolgoi
deposit in Umnugobi aimag, Mungun-Undur deposit in Khentii aimag, Ulaan
and Tsav deposits in Dornod aimag and Dulaankhar mountain deposit in
Bayan-Ulgii aimag.

Lead exists with other elements in nature and with metals such as zinc,
silver and arsenic. For example, the Khartolgoi deposit has 67 tons of
silver and 24 tons of lead. That is why it is called a polymetal mine.
