President Ts.Elbegdorj, Prime Minister S.Batbold and Speaker D.Demberel paid ceremonial respect to the state’s nine white flags on February 3, which was the first day of the year of the rabbit according to the lunar calendar.  They also offered greetings and good wishes to the people, particularly aged people, to whom they handed over presents. Ts.Tserendorj performed the morin khuur at the ceremony and recited Tsagaan Sar blessings for a peaceful year.
The Khamba (head) lama of the Gandantegchinlen temple,  D.Choijamts, and the Khamba lama of Dashchoilin temple, Ch.Dambajav, offered greetings to the three highest officials of the nation at Government House and prayed for peace and goodwill. In earlier years, the three used to go to Gandan to greet the Khamba lama and pray at the shrine..
