Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh received Xing Haiming, Ambassador of China to Mongolia on 23rd of October. During the meeting, the prime minister expressed Mongolia’s concerns about the decreasing amounts of coal being exported via the Gashuunsukhait-Gants Mod border crossing. As we have reported, the crossing in question has been the scene of delays and tailbacks for trucks from the important Tavan Tolgoi mine.

Mr U.Khurelsukh noted that solving this issue will help achieve the objective to increase bilateral trade turnover to USD 10 billion by 2020 and realise China’s ‘Belt and Road Initiative’. The PM ensured that the new government will continue the bilateral negotiations and agreements reached with China by its predecessor.
