An inspectors’ team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) arrived in Mongolia last week for a second review of the Extended Fund Facility programme. The total external financing package will thus be around $5.5 billion.
The IMF team will work in Ulaanbaatar for 14 days. During their stay, they will meet Mongolian government officials as well as taking the key decision as to whether the aid programme should continue. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh and Bank of Mongolia Governor N.Bayartsaikhan are to meet the IMF team.
