Former MP S.Ganbaatar has been charged with breaking Mongolia’s election law. He was called to appear on Monday morning (16th of October), at the Bayanzurkh District Court of Appeal, in the capital, Ulaanbaatar.
Mr S.Ganbaatar is accused of receiving SKW 50 million (USD 44,359) from a South Korean man during the 2017 presidential election. The former MP was nominated by the Mongolian People’s Party as a presidential candidate.
Previously, in an earlier court session, Mr Ganbaatar was given a MNT 1.4 million (USD 570) fine; however, he appealed against the decision.
