Mongolia’s Anti-Corruption Agency has been systematically presenting the findings of its investigation of 27 Government Agencies and 13 Ministries. Today (11th of October), they put the spotlight on the Health Ministry. A working team led by L.Sukh-Ochir, director of the Agency’s Disciplinary Inspection Department has exposed three violations of State law and Government resolutions after their investigation of the Health Ministry.
There are serious documentary errors in Health Ministry spending; notably, the total of MNT 5.3 million for the training of eight members of staff in the Philippines, Japan and Vietnam, not to mention, increasing the salary of eight other officials and allocating MNT 1.8 million for holding meetings in 2015 and 2016.
The Health Ministry also broke the ‘Law on honouring selected civil servants for their professional skills’ by distributing a total of MNT 10.2 million to all its employees during the Naadam celebration. Furthermore, the Ministry breached a government resolution forbidding celebrating anniversaries from its budget by spending a total of MNT 3.3 million on food and travel expenses.
