The following statistics have been issued regarding the Government-owned Development Bank of Mongolia (DBM), which as of 20th of September had a remaining loan package worth MNT 2.9 trillion. The DBM has financed 45 projects directly; 1625 sub-projects through Mongolian commercial banks. The 91.3 percent of loans issued by the DBM are recoverable, with the exception of 9.7 percent, which are unpayable.
There is a human side to these statistics: through its loans to enterprises, the bank has maintained 3000 jobs and created a further 1500 jobs. The bank issued a total of 225 billion loans in 2017; of these, 73 percent are for supporting exports.
