Today, 2nd October, is a day on which S.Zorig, one of the leaders of the Mongolian Democratic Revolution and a notable politician is remembered. It was on this day, 19 years ago, that S.Zorig, the then Minister of Infrastructure, was murdered. Mongolian Democratic Party leaders, MPs and other officials participated in the wreath laying ceremony at the S.Zorig monument in central Ulaanbaatar.

The case of S.Zorig’s murder has, for almost two decades, remained unsolved and the subject of much speculation. Only this year, have Mongolian law enforcers charged three suspects with assassinating him; many questions regarding the crime, however, remain unsolved.
