A forum for exchanging mining experience between Myanmar and Mongolia was held at the Best Western Hotel in Ulaanbaatar on 26th of September. The event is being organised as a part of the ‘Initiative of Transparency on Mining Exploration’. A total of 10 delegates from Myanmar have come to Mongolia to participate in the forum.

Vin Hten, advisor to the Myanmar Ministry of Mining and Environmental Protection said: ‘The interest of foreign investors in Myanmar’s mining, gas and oil sectors has been increasing. Myanmar currently has 20 mining sector licenses; 15 of which are for exploration. The Mongolian mining sector is more developed than Myanmar’s – we only have two or three years of experience in mining.’
