‘The Children of Genghis’, a film about the national horse racing tradition will premiere at Mongolian cinemas on 10th of October.
The film will also open the Ulaanbaatar Movie Festival. Directed by D.Zolbayar with a production budget of MNT 1 billion 200 million, the film is about the challenges faced by a young rider to compete in the Naadam competition. Horse racing is one of the three Mongolian traditional ‘manly’ games, along with wrestling and archery.
The original film score was played at a concert at the Corporate Convention Centre on 5th of September as a part of the 45th anniversary of the Mongolian State Philharmonic and 25th anniversary of the Morin Khuur Ensemble.
