The Government Agency for Policy Coordination on State Property has delayed the privatisation of the State Bank by a year. The Mongolian parliament approved the plan for privatisation of seven companies in 2017. However, the Finance Ministry proposed to delay the privatisation of State Bank, the Mongolian Stock Exchange and the Central Securities Depository to 2018.
According to Ts.Nyam-Osor, the privatisation of the State Bank was set in the 2017 State Budget. If the State Bank of Mongolia is to be fully privatised, the minimum amount of the sale would be MNT 300 billion. The Finance Ministry has planned that MNT 75 billion of the total sale would be State Budget revenue and the remaining MNT 225 billion would be spend for the renovation of the bank.
