The Mongolian Energy Ministry has organised regional energy sector meetings in cooperation with the Energy Regulatory Commission. The meeting for the eastern parts of the country was held in Dornod province in April, that for the western parts convened in Khovd province in July and the central parts were covered in a meeting in Orkhon province on 14th and 15th of September.
The Mongolian energy sectors currently produces 3.1 billion kw/hour of electricity and 4.5 million Gcal of thermal power; in addition, it imports 726.9 million kw/hour of electricity. According to A.Tleikhan, director of the Energy Regulatory Commission, energy sector debts have decreased by 16.8 percent from MNT 41.6 billion to MNT 34.6 billion.
