The ‘Northeast Asian economic security and possibilities for developing cooperation’ international conference is being held in Ulaanbaatar for the second day (15th of September). The conference opened at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia on 14th of September.  The theme of the two day event is regional issues. 

Researchers noted that increasing economic inter-dependence in the Northeast Asian region creates possibilities to develop multilateral economic cooperation. However, increased geopolitical tensions among world powers in the region is resulting in a regional arms race. In this situation, small and poor countries need protection – not in the military sphere but in terms of economic security. They need to be able to keep security for the long term.
