In Mongolia, 1st of September is the first day of the academic year – it is also the day when young children start kindergarten. Across the country, on this day a total of 252 thousand children have entered kindergartens. There are, however, some problems – a further 57 thousand youngsters have been left without anywhere to go. According to the Ministry of Education, 20 new kindergartens with 2200 beds are being constructed; 14 new kindergartens will begin operation later in September.
