Mongolian lawmakers are voting to dismiss Prime Minister J.Erdenebat from office during a special session of parliament (State Great Khural) on Thursday (31st of August). M.Enkhbold, Speaker of Parliament ruled to call a special session between 30th of August and 7th of September.
MP T.Ayursaikhan presented a petition to dissolve the Mongolian Parliament to Deputy Speaker Ya.Sanjmyatav on 23rd of August. The petition has been signed by a total of 30 members from the ruling Mongolian People’s Party.
According to Mongolian law, if Cabinet presents a petition to dissolve the State Great Khural, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on State Structure must hold meeting within a week and Parliament itself must hold a session within 14 days.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on State Structure did not back dismissal of PM.
