The Mongolian Academy of Sciences is to collaborate with Japan’s Okayama University of Science (OUS) in dinosaur studies, the state news agency reported.
A memorandum of mutual understanding on cooperation was signed on Tuesday by Kh.Tsogtbaatar, the director of the Paleontology and Geology Institute at the Academy of Sciences and Yasunobu Yanagisawa, the OUS president.
The Paleontology and Geology Institute has been conducting research entitled the “Ancient ecosystem of Mongolia’s Gobi Desert” since 1992 in collaboration with the scientific organisation of Okayama city. Within the framework of these research works, Mongolian and Japanese scholars have made many interesting finds in the Gobi, which have significantly contributed to the science of paleontology, Montsame reported.
Widening the collaboration, the sides will co-implement a project on international studies of dinosaur discoveries for the next four years.
