MP T.Ayursaikhan presented a petition to dissolve the Mongolian Parliament to Deputy Speaker Ya.Sanjmyatav on 23^rd of August. The petition was signed by a total of 30 members of the ruling Mongolian People’s Party. Deputy Speaker Ya.Sanjmyatav received the petition because M.Enkhbold, Speaker of Parliament was absent.

According to Mongolian law, if Cabinet presents a petition to dissolve the State Great Khural (parliament), the Parliamentary Standing Committee on State Structure must hold meeting within a week and Parliament itself must hold a session within 14 days.
