On Tuesday, Mongolian Prime Minister J.Erdenebat received the Russian Federation’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Igor V.Morgulov.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral trade. As we have reported, Mongolia is planning to buy hay and fodder from Russia to protect its livestock over the winter, having lost much of its harvest in this year’s droughts.  Mr J.Erdenebat said Mongolia is also talking with Russia about exporting processed meat and breeding livestock.

The agreements are expected to be finalised during the Eastern Economic Forum which is in due to be held on 6^th – 7^th  September in the Russian port city of Vladivostok. Preparation work for the event has already been completed by our government.

Regional and boundary cooperation is one of the important parts of the Mongolia-Russia relations. Inter-regional trade accounts for 70% of the total trade turnover between the countries, so governmental support from both countries is vital for organising cross border trade exhibitions, the Premier said.
