Mongolia will mark World Poetry Days with various events and the participation of some 200 poets, writers, translators, cultural and art figures from about 40 countries. The events are being organised by the Mongolian Academy of Culture and Poetry with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The 37th conference of World Poets and ‘International Poetry Festival named after Danzanravjaa’ is to be held in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar.
World Poetry Day is celebrated on 21st March, and first took place in 1999 under the auspices of UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
