B.Altantsom, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia met his North Korean counterpart Ri Yong Son on the sidelines of the 54th Conference of the Directors General of Civil Aviation, for the Asia and Pacific region. 

During the meeting, Ri Yong Son, Deputy Director General of Administration of Civil Aviation of North Korea, requested to renew an air communication agreement signed in 1978 and to train flight managers in Mongolia. Furthermore, he expressed interest on examining direct flights between Pyongyang and Ulaanbaatar. 

The conference is taking place the country’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, from 7th to 11th August; the venue being the Shangri la Hotel. A total of 400 civil aviation delegates from 40 countries and 12 organisations are attending the event.
