Mongolia is hosting the 54th Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation, for Asia and Pacific. The event is taking place the country’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, from 7th to 11th August; the venue being the Shangri la Hotel. A total of 400 civil aviation delegates from 40 countries and 12 organisations are attending the event.
The specific theme of the conference is: ‘The Challenge of Managing Outcome Focused and Risk Based Regulations for Asia Pacific States’. This is the second time that Mongolia has hosting the event – the 40th Conference was held in 2003.
Mongolia became a member of the UN International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) in 1989.
