All Mongolian participants win medals from Physics Olympiad

All Mongolian participants have won medals in the 48th International Physics Olympiad 2017. The competition was held on 16th-24th July in Yogyakarta, Indonesia with over 650 top students from 86 countries participating.

All five Mongolian students have won medals at the Olympiad. Taking silver were L.Dulguun from Shine Mongol School and L.Oyuntugs from Sant School as well as S.Sumyajav from Ireedui School of Khuvsgul province;  B.Amarbold  and E.Garid from Ulaanbaatar’s 1st School took bronze medals.

The International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) is an annual international physics competition for secondary school students. The aim of this competition is to enhance the development of international contacts in the field of school education in physics.

The first IPhO was held in Warsaw (Poland) in 1967, and was organized by Prof. Czeslaw Scislowski.
