A thirteen year-old Mongolian child jockey was seriously injured during the traditional horse racing competition which was held in Tudevtei soum of Zavkhan province on 21st of July. Doctors said, the boy named L.Baasankhuu had been diagnosed with a fractured skull and needed treatment in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. However, the helicopter transfer of patients is very costly. Fortunately, a kind man named D.Tamir and Blue Sky Aviation LLC helped the boy and covered the total of USD 11 thousand cost of of transferring him by air from Zavkhan to Ulaanbaatar. The boy is now hospitalised at the National Trauma and Orthopedic Center.
A total of 23 child jockeys fell off their horses and three of them were slightly injured in Ulaanbaatar during the horse racing at the Naadam festival.
