The Mongolian Cabinet has decided to make the ‘Child Money’ programme available to every child, and to compensate those who have not received the allowance. The ‘Child Money’ programme is a monthly allocation of MNT 20,000 to every child.

According to J.Munkhbat, Head of Cabinet Secretariat, it was instructed that ‘Child Money’ will cover 60 percent of the total children in Mongolia in the frameworks of the IMF Extended Fund Facility programme. “In the first half of 2017, economic recovery has begun with economic growth standing at 4-4.5 percent”, he said. “Budget profit has surpassed MNT 500 billion, and MNT 100 billion is required to issue ‘Child Money’ to every child”.

He said that the decision will take effect from tomorrow.
