On June 28^th and 29^th, a severe thunderstorm tore through some parts of Mongolia destroying and damaging more than 20 homes in Bulgan province. High winds in excess of 20 metres per second, struck the Bulgan, Bugat and Orkhon soums (district) of Bulgan province at 10 p.m. on Wednesday. The storm tore apart a total of 23 homes, destroying 15 of them completely. In addition, 1320 livestock belonging to 40 families (6 horses, 8 cows, 1076 sheep and 230 goats) were killed during the thunderstorm.

The storm also damaged electricity transmission lines between Erdenet and Bulgan.
