The Mongolian Presidential Election was held on 26th of June. According to official sources, mobile phone communications in the Tsogttsetsii soum of the Gobi-Altai province were cut off while the vote count was taking place. ‘This act of sabotage caused delay on announcing the results of polling’ said Ch.Sodnomtseren, director of the General Election Committee. This case is being investigated by the Regional Police Division.
According to national results, Kh.Battulga from the Democratic Party got 517478 votes and M.Enkhbold from Mongolian People’s Party 411748. The third candidate, S.Ganbaatar of the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party received 409899 votes. Subsequently, Kh Battulga and M.Enkhbold will go on to compete in the second phase of the Presidential Election on 7th of July.
