Mongolians made their choices for their fifth president on 26^th of June. Polling took place nationwide between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. However, according to the Mongolian Election Law, if none of the candidates, get more than 50%, the leading two leading will go on to a second head-to-head re-run to be held within 14 days. This is precisely what has happened:

Kh.Battulga from the Democratic Party got 517478 votes and M.Enkhbold from Mongolian People’s Party  411748. The third candidate, S.Ganbaatar of the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party received 409899 votes. Subsequently, Kh Battulga and M.Enkhbold  will go on to compete in the second phase of the Presidential Election.

A total of 1.9 million citizens voted and the turnout was 68.27 percent.
