Mongolian Prime Minister J.Erdenebat received Aleksey Sambuevich, the acting Head of Russia’s Republic of Buryatia earlier today (2nd of June). During the meeting, the two sides discussed the development of cross border cooperation.
Trade and turnover at the border crossing has increased since Mongolia and Russia signed a visa-free travel agreement in 2016. The visa-free agreement underlines the development of cooperation between the two countries in all sectors. Furthermore, Mongolia is aiming to ratify a government-to-government agreement on cross border cooperation with Russia.
The PM noted the importance of increasing the border crossing infrastructure and trade as well as the implementation of the much-discussed programme of creating a modern economic corridor linking Russia, Mongolia and China.
