J.Batsuuri, Minister for Education, Culture, Science and Sports has been sacked after the answers to a Mongolian national exam paper were leaked. On Tuesday, Prime Minister J.Erdenebat submitted a proposal to dismiss Mr J.Batsuuri, which was backed by the  parliamentary group of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP). In all, 80 percent of the 65 MPP members in the State Great Khural approved the proposal to dismiss the Education Minister due to his ‘lack of responsibility’.

As Mongolian high school students take their final exams this month, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports is facing a wave of criticism after copies of a maths exam for 12th grade students — and the answers — were leaked by an official. The apparent culprit exam was none other than the manager of Ulaanbaatar’s 49th school, a certain  P.Ulziikhishig, who leaked the exam details on Facebook.

Fifth, ninth and twelfth grade graduation students have been taking exams from 22nd to 30th of May. The maths exam was due to have be taken on Thursday 25th of May.

Because of the leaks, the maths exam had to be cancelled; it was repeated with new questions earlier today, 30th of May, at 12.00 a.m.
