Mongolia will organise a Sand Festival at the Lake Ereen tourist camp in the Gobi-Altai province. located in the south-west of the country. The two-day cultural event will take place on 24th and 25th of July.
During the festival, an exhibition of ‘Made in Mongolia’ products for tourists, and sport competitions namely, sand volleyball, a relay race to the mountain top, sandboarding, sand sumo wrestling, a polo match, anklebone shooting, children’s wrestling, and colt racing will be held.
Lake Ereen is a beautiful location in the Jargalan soum of Gobi-Altai province. The sand festival is held every year in order to develop sand sports based on the great sand dunes of the region combined with Lake Ereen and to create a new brand of tourism destination and products for foreign and domestic tourists, travellers and holidaymakers.
