The Bank of Mongolia, also known as MongolBank, is facing a huge deficit balance amounting to MNT 3 trillion. This staggering figure is equivalent to nearly half of the Mongolian Budget. According to MP T.Ayursaikhan, who led the working group which examined the Bank of Mongolia, the bank illegally provided loans with 0.85 percent interest to enterprises.

The working group reported the results of the  financial examination of Mongol Bank at meeting of Mongolian People’s Party parliamentary group on 23rd of May.
