In a bid to encourage the general public to donate blood, the Ulaanbaatar City Administration has decided to issue free bus passes to those who do so regularly, officials said. The decision, taken at the Ulaanbaatar Citizens’ Representative Khural on 18th of May, presented by the Democratic Party, said the regular blood donors will be granted free travel on buses across the city.
‘Honoured Donors’ who have either donated their blood 35 times or 12 liters will be able to ride on buses for free. Currently there are a total of 256 ‘Honoured Donors’ regularly giving blood in Mongolia.
