Mongolia and Japan are currently marking the 15th anniversary of the establishment of official diplomatic relations. To celebrate this, Mongolia is to organise a Japanese Culture Day at the Mongolia-Japan Center on 20th of May. 

During the event, there will be a “How well do you know Japan?” question and answer quiz, a Japanese singing competition, a tea ceremony, a calligraphy workshop and training in the culture of furoshiki (traditional Japanese wrapping cloth). There will be displays of traditional Japanese kendama toys as well as anime and manga. There will also be a separate display devoted to one of Japan’s most famous cultural ‘exports’ – its cuisine.

A photo exhibition entitled “15 Years Spent Together” and a selection of the best essays about Japanese culture will be held during the festival.
