Practical preparation for the forthcoming Mongolian Presidential Election is already underway.

According to the Law on Elections, Mongolian citizens living abroad who wish to vote, must be registered at the Consulates or Embassies, in the country where they are living 40 days before Election Day. The registration of these Mongolian expats will last for 20 days from 1st of May. A total of 45 sub-commissions in 32 countries, including Australia, the UK, the USA, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Korea and China have been established. Voters residing abroad will cast their vote on 10th-11th of June.

In 2013, more than 6000 Mongolian expat voters were registered and over 4000 people voted in the Presidential Election.
