The wife of President Ts.Elbegdorj, Kh.Bolormaa, has established a foundation called Trust-Mongolia without Cancer. It will work for prevention of cancer, spreading awareness and information, encouraging early diagnosis, improving the quality of treatment, training oncologists, and for more attention to be paid to the issue. She said at a press conference on Wednesday that ever since her grandmother died of cancer, she has been thinking of taking up the issue and has finally come up with the foundation.

Recorded cancer cases per 100,000 people have gone up from 289 in 2000 to 418 in 2008. Most of them suffered from liver cancer.
