S. Demberel was reelected Chairman of the 831-member Mongolian
National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) for another four-year term at
its recent 18^th annual conference. He received the support of 68% of
the 523 members present and voting, with the rest favoring the only other
candidate, B. Lkhagvajav, Director of Urbanek. Conceding defeat, Lkhagvajav said the election had been fair and
transparent and that he had contested only to emphasize the need for a change
at the top, after one individual man had held power for too long.
