Meat prices have been stable at Khuchit Shonkhor market before
the new year. A kilo of beef costs between MNT3,800 and MNT3,900, while
boneless beef is between MNT4,200 and MNT4,500. A kilo of horse meet costs
between MNT2,900 and MNT3,300 and a kilo of lamb is MNT3,600, rising to MNT4,200
if it is boneless. Goat meat costs between MNT2,900 and MNT3,300 per kilo. The
cheapest meat, at MNT3,000 per kilo, is that of camel, which is believed to
have lower nutritional benefits.
