The city authorities have accepted
recommendations in a feasibility study conducted by the Ministry for Food,
Agriculture and Light Industry on replacing the present Hargia waste water
treatment plant with a new one that will use newer technology and have more
capacity. MNT1.7 billion will be needed for this and work is expected to begin
before the end of the year. It has also been decided to relocate all leather
and wool processing units away from the city center, and Mayor G.Munkhbayar has
identified 56.5 hectares of land in Khan-Uul district for this.
