A new bone marrow transplant
section was inaugurated yesterday at the State Clinical Hospital. People with
blood cancer and other blood-related problems can now get treatment at home and
not have to go to foreign countries. The number of such patients has increased
22.7% in the last five years, including an 11.5% rise in blood cancer cases.
Regular operations will begin in 2011 as the doctors would be trained abroad
and all the equipment imported.
