Ts.Shinebayar loses membership of MPP and of its group in Parliament

Ts.Shinebayar , who refuses to accept the change of his party’s name from MPRP
to MPP, was last week expelled from membership of the MPP by the party’s
Ulaanbaatar committee. Following this, he has also lost his membership of the
MPP group in Parliament, according to an announcement by the Deputy Chief of
the group, D.Dondog . Shinebayar was elected from Dornod aimag in 2008 as an
MPRP candidate. Since the party changed its name, he has established a
temporary “headquarters of MPRP” along with former President N.Enkhbayar.

Dondog said the MPP group no longer recognizes.Shinebayar as a member because
he has publicly spoken about staying on in the MPRP. However he has not sent in
his resignation from the MPP or the MPP group in Parliament. He has not been attending
the group’s meetings, even though he has met three times with the group head,
D.Lundeejantsan.

Dondog asserted that the Supreme Court has
accepted the MPP as the same as the earlier MPRP and that Speaker D.Demberel
has also informed Parliament of this.
