Klaus Rohland has been named the next World Bank Country Director of Mongolia, China and the Republic of Korea. He will be based in Beijing. This is his fourth term as Country Director with the Bank. He has served in the same capacity in Russia, and before that in Vietnam.
A German national, Rohland has been with the Bank since 1981. He knows the region well, having managed the World Bank Program in China in the mid-1990s.
