The budget allocation
for holders of the three highest offices of the land makes interesting reading.
The President”s Office will spend MNT500 million more than in 2010, including
MNT236.1 million on medals to be awarded to citizens. The Speaker gets MNT740 million more than in 2010, but
the Prime Minister’s allocation has been slashed by MNT1.7 billion.
The President’s Office has received a total of MNT3 billion and 860 million for
2011, of which MNT1.5 billion is for the President’s foreign visits and
MNT130.5 million for entertainment of foreign guests. MNT182 million was spent
this year on renovation and repairs in the President’s Office but the amount
has been increased to MNT650 million in 2011.
The National Development and Innovation Committee has has got MNT2 billion in
2011 or five times more than in 2010. It will spend MNT224 million of this on
studying economic development cooperation with neighbors and other areas of
policy research.
